The day broke bright and early, just how I dislike them. But the game was on to catch the 8.15 bus out of Sarajevo to Podgorica. I decided to head that way as I didn’t want to pass through Serbia on my way to Kosovo. God only knows what they would have thought of me then considering how non-user friendly the border patrol was the first time round. It was a long bus ride and I slept and read off and on. Travel Blog: Endings and Beginnings

Emily and Russell flew back to London on Saturday and it was a sad parting but we’ve all promised to reconvene the Balkans Reunion in London on 16 October. So it won’t be too long. Plus they’re off to India in like a week or so. After they left I led some new recruits to the Pirate Pub and we had some drinks, then Haris found us, and then Murphy showed up. We decided that since it was Saturday we should have a barbecue and so we started making plans purchased 3 kilos of meat, some veggies, bread and 14 liters of beer…there were to be at least 10 or so. …

Travel Blog: Back to Sarajevo

Waking up in our awesome hotel room reminded us of exactly where we were. But we had a lunch date that we needed to make. Branka, Lazarov’s mother, was cooking lunch for us and so we had to be there with bells on. We took one more adventurous ride in the lift and said our goodbyes to the Hotel Tamiš. Lunch consisted of no less than 3 courses, more rekija  and loads of “eat, eat” as if we were all wasting away and needed to be force-fed to ensure we didn’t die of starvation. …
